Agro ABC becomes Ciboris

Ciboris is the new name of Agro ABC, which is since 2016 an active partner of the Primoris Holding. Ciboris is an independent non-profit organization that stands for scientific research concerning food safety, quality assurance and risk assessment within the Primoris Holding and scientifically based support of organizations active in the agro food chain.

Guaranteed added value for companies in the agro food chain

In concrete terms, Ciboris is specialized in giving advice and training concerning (amongst others) food safety, quality, sampling plans, risk assessment, validation and verification of food safety and quality management systems, etc. The support given by Ciboris is based on the combination of 3 pillars:

  • Scientific knowledge regarding quality management systems, sampling plans and risk assessment in the agro-food chain
  • Legal status regarding hygiene and food safety in the agro-food chain
  • Implementation of quality assurance systems in actors in the agro food chain

Furthermore, Ciboris supports the further scientific development of the Primoris Holding, contributing to the implementation of a strong future-oriented approach within the different companies.

From Agro ABC to Ciboris

In support of the growing - as well as international activities - Agro ABC has decided to be baptized as Ciboris: 'Cibus' is the Latin term for food and the suffix -oris indicates the partnership with the Primoris Holding. This new name is coupled with a new logo, in which you will find the growing plant from the Primoris logo. This plant not only symbolizes the link with food and nature, it also clearly shows Ciboris's mission to support its stakeholders in their growing activities. This is further highlighted by the new slogan: Center of excellence for food chain safety & risk assessment. 

The team

Dr. ir. Liesbeth Jacxsens (left on the picture) has recently gained support from by ir. Sandra Rueda Sagredo (right on the picture). They both can rely on extensive scientific knowledge and experience, which makes them the perfect tandem to revive Ciboris mission every day.

First training: sampling plans

On Friday December 1st and January 19th, Ciboris organizes their first training about sampling plans. A good sampling plan is an important tool to control the Food Safety Management System (FSMS)/Quality Management System (QMS) in agro food companies. The target group of this training are quality and purchase managers in the agro food industry.
